Bristol City Women is delighted to announce the signing of Ebony Salmon ahead of the 2019/20 Barclays FA Women’s Super League season.

The 18-year-old striker arrives at the SGS College Stoke Gifford from Manchester United having spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Sheffield United.

Salmon is a part of the Lionesses Under-19s squad who are competing in the Under-19 European Championship and their finals campaign kicks-off tomorrow in Scotland against Germany.

City’s newest arrival spoke of her excitement ahead of her maiden season in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League

“I’m really looking forward to getting going at a new club and to see what the new season brings, said Salmon.

“Bristol City is a club that is renowned for giving chances to young players and that was big reason behind my decision to join the club.

Bristol City Manager, Tanya Oxtoby, said: “We’re delighted to sign Ebony as we build towards the start of the new season.

“She is a very gifted player who possess an abundance of raw talent and her out and out pace will make her a threat to all WSL defences this season, I am excited to see how much further she can progress and develop with us.

“I’ve said since I started here that as a club Bristol City Women has an ethos of unearthing and developing talented young players by providing a high performance environment to develop their game understanding through regular playing time.

“We have so many examples of this as a club, whether it’s our home grown talent such as Jess Woolley, Ellie Strippel or Jas Matthews that have come through our academy, or the likes of identifying raw talent such Ella Rutherford and Poppy Pattinson who have thrived from regular game time last year, Bristol is about helping players reach their potential.

“Ebony’s arrival is yet another example of the hard work going on at the club to provide a pathway for young players to play international football at the highest level, and we wish her and Ella all the best as they prepare for the U19s Euros.”
