‘Everyone got stuck in’ - Salmon

Ebony Salmon netted the winner against Birmingham on at Solihull Moors on Sunday and believes the squad’s attitude in training following Monday’s defeat translated onto the pitch.

The speedster was introduced 15 minutes into the second half and made an impact almost immediately as she raced on Jas Matthew’s ball over the top and cooly finished under the onrushing Hampton.

“It’s a great feeling to come on and score the winner, but the most important thing was to get the three points from the game to take us off the bottom the table,” said Salmon.

“Everyone got stuck in. The one thing we said before the game was that we all have to win our 1v1 battles and I think that we did that across the park and it gave us a really good chance to get something from the game and we managed to grab the winner.

“After our performance on Monday we all knew we had to come here put in a performance and get a result out of the game.

“The training sessions have been good from all of us, that has shown in our performance and us coming away to get three points after a disappointing start to the week.

“I think it gives us a good lift going into the break with three points and coming back after the break we know we’ve go a lot of work to do, but it gives us a good platform to build on.”
