Dan Bentley says City are ready to deliver a match-winning performance against Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day (KO 3pm).
The goalkeeper, who produced a string of excellent saves against Sheffield Wednesday including a finger-tip denial of Barry Bannan's free kick, says the squad is ready to bounce back after recent losses.
“We are three defeats on the spin which is unheard of for us this season so we have to put these three results behind us, put them to bed,” said Bentley.
“We’ll identify what didn’t go well and I’m sure the manager and the staff will be doing that in great detail and will tell us the key areas to improve.”
City travel to The Valley on Boxing Day, backed by 1,200-plus Robins fans and the positive shot-stopper added: “Charlton is not an easy place to go and they are certainly not to be underestimated, but if we conduct ourselves in the right way and play as we know we can, and as we have done at certain points in the season, I don’t see us coming away with anything but three points.
“It was an angry, disappointed dressing room against Sheffield Wednesday. We’ve got a good bunch of lads and a good mix of youth and experience. We’ll make sure that if there is anyone who is not quite with it or has a loss of confidence then we drag them through it.
“We didn’t create much for the fans to get excited about but they still came up in numbers against Sheffield Wednesday and we appreciate that. The best way for us to show appreciation is for us to give them something to cheer about on Boxing Day. We have high expectations of ourselves so when we don’t reach those levels we are as frustrated as the fans are.”
Supporters can pay on the day at Charlton.
